Baby Sophisticated…

My radar is on baby stuff that doesn’t look like baby stuff, so I was quite thrilled to come across this beautiful etsy store called LHIdea. They use organic cotton and pure linen and everything is so sophisticated and different. Their items combine elegance and quality. The textiles are natural and soft, something both the mother and the baby will appreciate, each on their own! Their design is simple but oh, so stylish! Some of favorites are from top to bottom; the crib bumper, the linen bib, the linen blanket/quilt, the baby sleeping bag and the hooded towel.

Leigh Viner, a self taught artist, creates these rad illustrations out of her deep appreciation and love for fashion! Her pieces celebrate beauty all the way. The artworks are sensational yet powerful. She has a wide range of mediums varying from sketch to photography. The one showing here is a favorite of mine. It’s a kind of magic!

Talon is the brain child of jewelry designer Emily Hirsch. Originated from California, Emily relocated in Brooklyn where all the magic happens. She combines candid smells of her childhood like those of apple orchards with the talismanic powers of ancient amulets. In reality, she carefully selects and blends essential oils to fill her vintage inspired necklaces. There’s a fine selection of fragrances to choose from and personalize each amulette which can be cast in bronze, silver or glass. The cork stopper of the amulette is designed to let the subtle aromas of the scent be distributed throughout the day! In her shop you can find not only her amulettes but her beautiful jewelry creations.

Falconwright Tales!

As a photographer I’m always fascinated by the power certain images possess upon their glance. Images that captivate me! Usually these pictures tell stories far greater than they were supposed to and invite me to be part of their world. In fact, that’s one quality I always try to acheive when working either on portraits, advertising or weddings! So when I was browsing the lookbook of leather goods site Falconwright I found myself trapped by its beauty. I was sucking one image after the other unable to tame my desire, trying desperately to become that woman on the screen and live her schenario, wear her clothes, carry that bag…

Hey… Hay!

So tell me, did you notice yesterday the amazing dot rug laying gloriously on the living room floor in this stunning place we visited? No? Well, take a better look because that’s a piece of art from one hell of a company!  Hay creates the most beautiful contemporary housewares you ’ve ever wanted to lay your hands or feet on –it depends on your preferences! They have a widely extended line of goods that covers all areas of the home ….But, on to our star for the day the dot carpet! It’s made of woolen felt balls indivudually stitched together by hand. Just imagine how happy your feet would be walking on it! Not to mention that it totally trasforms a place from plain good to simply fantastic!  There’s also a cool range of colors to pick from including bold and natural  hues!

Sweet soaps

I'm always for a treat, so I couldn't resist these sweet handmade soaps from Naiad. Their cuteness is evident but what sold me was Erin's no animal tested policy. Above you see only a portion of her amazing soap creations. I guess, it's  nice to pamper oneself!

Oh! so pretty headbands!

Mmm...What's that? Headbands! Do I wear them? Usually no. To me, they feel like being imposed as a fashion accessory, pretty but akward at the same time (to walk around with). But those above from Love, Taza made me stare at them for soo looong that my heart jumped and my eyes rolled. What I like the most is that they compliment her looks without being too flashy or loud. They are tasteful and have the most pretty details on them! I like the color combinations and I feel that I could wear them, not only on a special occasion but on any given chance.

Clay Heaven!

It's been an hectic week and time passed by, unbelievably quickly...Time was divided for Easter shopping, and spring cleaning (not a good combination) and on top of that all the usual stuff we all do it our daily lives. I'm glad I'm almost finished and today I can devote myself on the online world (such a delight after a few days off). Now, let 's see what we have here... I like pottery a lot and I'll always enjoy a good piece when I find it and at whitney smith pottery I found more than one. Whitney Smith left a career in Anthropology to follow her passion and we sure feel she did the right thing! Beautiful handmade pieces for the home in delicious colors or just pure white! Clay Heaven, here I come!
