The amazing imaginary of photographer Jonas Ingerstedt

Today, I picked this house from the interiors portfolio of Swedish photographer Jonas Ingerstedt. I find it very appealing with its gallery wall full of unique photographs and its kitchen with vintage Eames chairs and a gorgeous orange Smeg fridge. The rest of  the home showcases a mingle of contemporary and antiques style which I totally dig! A house of full of personality, seen through the lens of a great photographer.

The amazing world (her home that is…) of Jennifer Jansch

Stylist Jennifer Jansch has an impeccable taste and the pictures of her home above are here to prove it! I truly enjoy houses that show a well edited mix of styles and eras while retaining a homogenous sense of interiors by applying certain rules, for instance, in color selections. This way the result is neither flashy nor boring. It feels just right. Grey and brown together work really well with neutral backgrounds. The choice of materials is synonymous of an eclectic personality. The sofa is quite boxy but minimal making this living room easy going while the dining area implies grandeur of the past and suggests a more formal setting. The bathroom is luxurious though serene. Lastly, the bedroom feels ultra feminine and glamorous without being overloaded.

The amazing world (her home that is…) of Daniella Witte

When a house has most of the elements I find attractive, thrown all at once before my face, I get haunted by it. As if the more information I can gulp about my object of desire the better I feel. That’s the case with the house above. It belongs to Daniella Witte an aspiring photographer and blogger. The moment I saw her home I was stuck and couldn’t let go. Actually these pictures are from the magazine Sköna hem where her home was showcased. The photographer is Daniella herself!

Daniella is a fantastic photographer and when I found her blog, while perusing the internets, it was her imaginary that kept me looking and soon I realized that some of the captivating interiors I was looking at belonged to her home. The combination of metal surfaces, white background, wooden flooring and lots of black and grey in the mix, it’s a win-win situation. The balance of this home is perfect and the feeling I get is calming and profound. Easing the senses is important when life is hectic most of the time and this place can do that simultaneously!

The palette revolves around the neutral and the natural and falls right into the color scheme of a scandinavian scenery. Maybe we crave what we don’t have, and as I live in the Mediterranean I find more soothing environments that deliver less bold qualities in terms of decorating. The good thing is that a place like that can be easily updated in order to feel more warm with a few, let’s say neon, accents when the hotter seasons kick in!

Beauty is…this eclectic room!

Since its launch, Lonny captivates perfectly the spirit of contemporary interiors. Over the course of  time they showed one too many beautiful interiors to begin with, but today I wanted to share this living room shot. This room depicts more or less what I want from a space. Simple yet creative and a bit edgy. Enough to stir my interest and not over the top styled. A space that breathes and allows its inhabitants to feel relaxed!  The warmth of the wooden furniture bonds with the white walls and the quirky photograph adds absolute character. This is my inspiration, from Lonny magazine.VIA LONNY MARCH12-2

The amazing world (her home that is) of Joanna!

Joanna and Sebastian have created a unique house by following their instincts after they decided that living in a big city was not their priority. They took a house in the country which had good bones but was in need of a major overhaul. It’s a tough job but they did and pretty good, I will say! The result is a modern, airy and relaxed home with wood beams and a painted floor, as homage to its country origins. The main aspect of their abode is the open plan living which suits them perfectly. You see a lot of white around, but also a beautiful accent wall in black that creates depth and adds dimension. The interior is a mix and match of IKEA furniture and sourced pieces. The overall feel is simple yet functional and smart! Joanna is online as well, she authors the beautiful blog  Kavkadesign and there you will find her sharing ideas, inspiration and daily life!

I’m always drawn to aesthetically appealing design and Brabbu is no exception, but when a company creates with focus not only in design but in respect with nature is at least admirable. The outcome, in such a case, is destined to be excellent! Brabbu delivers selective pieces of interior items with amazing detail and craftsmanship while researching all aspects of every organic form they choose. Plus, they put together a array of shots that shows great styling, bringing together high end design with an earthly vibe, so relaxed and yet sophisticated. No need to say more!  They sold me at first sight. Just take a look at the stunning images above.

The amazing world of (her home that is…) Silje Aune Eriksen!

Well it’s Monday again(what a drag) so it feels just right to kick -start the week with a great dose of awesomeness! This is a house I would have liked to own and it belongs to ceramics designer Silje Aune Eriksen. It has all the right elements infusing in the atmosphere. The ample white walls filled with beautiful ceramics(some belong to her own collection!) and artwork. Beautiful rustic features throught-out the house combined with slate flooring (well, I’m content here since I have this type of flooring too) in the most amazing greenish/greysh tone with some pine hardwood thrown in for good measure (this I long)… and the best part? The most drool-worthy interior design I’ve seen lately! I spot the perfect grey couch, the right hint of neon pink allover and iconic design pieces here and there, all done with a casual and relaxed style. This home is in the current issue of Elle decoration Norway. The stunning photography is from Trine Thorsen. Enjoy!

A manhattan pied-a-terre

Sometimes I see a space and I really get excited! This happened with the pied-a-terre featured in Veranda Magazine. Then, I try to figure out what in particular I find inspiring about those interiors and why... Probably I wouldn't incorporate all the above elements in my abode but the color combinations that I see here are very interesting and certainly well thought. Black and white is a favorite of mine but I believe that when someone adds injections of other colors like greys or browns it takes it to another level of visual impact. It also warms up the formality of the duo. Obviously this interior is also quite traditional and those gold accents prove it greatly but when grey and brown enter the scheme it's their softness that occupies me the most. Plus, the focal dynamics of those vertical black lines on the main storage space are so strong and symmetric that open up this pied-a-terre to great lengths. Even if my place is not that small I believe that inspiration from compact spaces is more valuable since it's those spaces that push aesthetics and design to new boundaries in an effort to incorparate more elements with less actual space!

Guest Post: Tiny decorative details

Hi, I'm Susi, a writer for Design Shuffle, an online community of interior designers, design professionals and design lovers from around the world. I'm so happy to be visiting Finely Inc. today to guest blog about one of my favorite topics: decorative details in interior design.  The saying “the devil is in the details” definitely applies to a well styled room. The details, even tiny ones, are what make a room beautiful, chic and stylish.  I've pulled together some of my favorite tiny decorative details to share with you and your readers.  Enjoy!
Table Accents

Like jewelry and accessories in fashion, tiny decorative details can make a room, a vignette or even a piece of furniture.  Beautiful bowls and trays make lovely table accessories and places to hold beautiful baubles.
Grosgrain Ribbon Design

Love the grosgrain ribbon and nailheads that trim the door frames in this mudroom. Such a chic (and simple) detail that adds tons of style.
Bathroom Decor Design

Accents are great bathroom design ideas. A silver tray in the bathroom to organize perfume bottles and other objects is a lovely design detail—one of those versatile and easy decorating ideas. The silver adds shine and an extra bit of elegance.
Nailhead Trim Detail

Nailhead trim is a classic decorative detail that is small but creates a big impact. It can be applied to all kinds of furniture and even walls.
Brass Knob Accent

You can greatly enhance your bedroom design with some small details. Pulls and knobs can completely change the look of a piece of furniture. These tiny decorative details can make the difference between fine and sublime. Love the shiny brass against the navy on this chest.
Door Knob Accent

We use them every day but how often do we really pay attention to door handles? Swapping out standard knobs for antique or vintage knobs can turn a tiny detail into a design statement.
Footstool Design

Even the smallest piece of furniture in the room can make a big statement in a bedroom design.  Adding an interesting patterned fabric to this footstool makes it stand out in the room. Small is beautiful.
Furniture Trim Detail

Trim is the tiny detail that can transform a piece of upholstered furniture. Piping on cushions, trim and ribbon are beautiful details for furniture. [ Images 1/ 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 ]

An amazing space!

If it's not a sight for sore eyes what else could it be? I've died and gone to heaven (at least this is my version of it)!

India Mahdavi

Her work is aesthetically pleasant and fully ergonomic. I respect a great deal people who are passionate about their work and follow their inner voice of inspiration, India is one of them. The spaces, she creates as the pictures show above, are stylish with fine tuning and a rythmical vibe. She believes places always have a story to tell and she listens carefully in order to satisfy this need. An esoterical truth that seeks to see the light and India is here to preserve it!
